Supporting your bush after fire Notes

Front

Before you start

This guide is for anyone with native bush on their place. It is designed in particular for someone who has been recently affected by fire, to help you navigate what comes next for native habitat. But it also is designed for anyone who wants to take preparatory steps to be ready to support your native bush through any future fires.

This guide comes out of a year of fire recovery work done in collaboration with landholders of nine properties burnt by the 2024 Pomonal–Dadswells Bridge fire and the 2025 Grampians and Little Desert fires.

This preamble section explains how to use the guide, where the advice comes from, and why a single block matters as a whole landscape recovers from fire.
